Tiny House | HOME TOUR
A new wave in the home industry is the increasing popularity of Tiny Homes. These small abodes are intentionally built for a down-sized lifestyle with space sizes ranging from 100-400 square feet. While most would prefer the accommodations of a large home, there is a growing movement of buyers and builders that are choosing tiny homes for the bigger benefits of financial freedom, less environmental impact, and social independence.
Designing a small space to serve multiple functions can be challenging, but Jewel Pearson of Charlotte, North Carolina did an impressive job with not only designing, but building her own tiny home layered with personality, African art, and inspirational quotes.
In her interview on Apartment Therapy, she shares bits of her creative flair like how she used an old Ikea mirror as a sliding door for her bathroom. Her use of a brick red color called Fireweed gracing the trim adds a warm pop that doesn’t overwhelm the space and compliments the neutral tones.
